The Bronco division is for the 11 and 12 year old child looking to build on their baseball experience. Leadoffs, the sacrifice bunt, and hit and
run plays are all a part of the Bronco division.
Players also get the chance to play on a larger diamond (70 ft bases) for
that big league feel. Coaches at this level refine the baseball skills and
fundementals of the players without losing site of the main objective - to
have fun.
This year, our Bronco division will field 4 teams in the Greater DuPage
PONY Baseball Association (GDPBA). This association is made up of baseball
teams from neighboring communities (Darien, Woodridge, Bollingbrook, etc.).
Romeoville will field two teams in Division I and seven teams in Division II.
Division I is geared towards players with a greater desire to play competitive
baseball. Division II is geared towards players with skills that are still
physically developing. The two divisions should provide the appropriate
competition levels for our children.
We expect to play approximately 20 games this season. Ten of these games will
be scheduled home games played at the Romeoville Recreation Center. The other
ten games will be games played in neighboring communities.
Our regular season is expected to begin around April 30 and finish June 27,
followed by a two week championship tournament. The season is expected to be
completed before July 4.
